Today I want to share a few of my favorite crochet tools with you! Why? I want to share because March is National Craft Month, and National Crochet week is the second week of March! As a crochet designer, I decided to celebrate by sharing a few of my favorite tools with you! There are 3 tools that I absolutely love, and don’t think I could live without. One is my Furl Odyssey Hooks. Second is my single Furl crochet hook stand. And third, but not least, is my Stanwood Yarn Winder!
Just a quick FYI, this post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy here for the details. Fair Warning, it is long and boring, but it does the trick!
I want to share a little more about March 11th, and what all Worship Tools Day is all about before I tell you more about why these tools are my favorite right now.
“Worship Tools Day: This holiday is always held on March 11th!
There are a few things the male/female population worships more than his/her tools. To some, a tool is a natural extension of their arm. So, Worship of Tools Day is a logical day of celebration. And, it’s definitely a guy thing….
Please note however, there are more than a few ladies who love to work with their hands, and find today to be an important holiday.
Celebrate today by working with tools, and buying a tool or two. Receiving a tool as a gift today, makes this truly a special day.”

My Favorite Crochet Hooks
I have tried many different crochet hooks in the last 10 years. Furl Odyssey Hooks are by far my favorite. I have tried aluminum hooks, Clover Armour hooks (which I also I really liked), etc before I tried the Furl hooks. I came across these this last year when many people from Crochetpreneur Business Academy were trying them. I meet with them Monday thru Friday, and they can help keep me focused. I also try to help them as much as I can. We hold each other accountable. I ordered one. I tried it, and I was hooked! They are premium hooks but they are absolutely worth every penny I have paid. The end 2020 I decided to fully invest in a full set of the sizes I would use. Keep in mind, at the time, I was just a maker. I had not changed over or made the decision to design yet. As December ended, and January began, I finally decided to start designing. These hooks fit into my hand naturally. I get more even stitches when I stitch. The hook glides through any yarn that I use.
My second tool that I can’t live without is my single crochet hook stand. What I love about it is that it will hold any of my hooks. My hooks won’t roll off even when I am adding or taking off stitch markers, or typing up the pattern into my computer. Plus, I know exactly which hook I am using. I encourage everyone to try Furl hooks and their products. The hooks are guaranteed so if they break they will replace them at least once. Click on the picture below to go check them out for yourself! I promise you won’t be disappointed. I am an affiliate with them, so I get a little back towards me if you purchase. Also, Furls is having a big sale right now for National Craft Month!
My third favorite crochet tool is my wonderful Stanwood Yarn Winder! I have tried a smaller electric one before. I had it a few years. Last year I chose to take the plunge and purchase this one. It has not disappointed me at all. It has made my crochet designing so much easier! I absolutely love it! I got it off Amazon. It was totally worth the money. As you can see my husband has it attached to my desk so it is out of the way but easy to use. We live in a small house so we get creative! You can get your own Stanwood yarn winder by clicking here.
