Crochet pumpkin pattern

Introduction

Who is ready for fall? I absolutely love fall! It is one of my favorite seasons, and we are well into fall? I love watching the leaves turn colors, and enjoying the cooler temperatures. Each year, we try to go to the pumpkin patch. This year so far, we have not made it. It’s not lining up with our schedule like it usually does. With Bella back in the Catholic School, it is difficult to match our days up to go. Do you usually go to the pumpkin patch?

A Crochet Pattern by: Christina Ryan

I decided to join in a collaboration with other designers for a fun, crochet event called the Dollar Days Fall Hop. It is hosted by my friend Melanie from Simply Jane Melanie. Since I usually design amigurumi, I wanted to stay in my area of expertise. When I think of fall, I think of pumpkins.

This pumpkin crochet pattern comes in three different sizes, and I made different samples in different colors. There are so many different kinds of pumpkins, and each color means different things when you see different pumpkin buckets during Halloween.

The Dollar Days Fall Hop

This fall blog hop is hosted by my friend Melanie from Simply Jane Melanie. Purple is my favorite color, and I find it interesting that it is often considered a color of creativity and individuality.

Some people have painted their plastic pumpkins purple. This has started to gain popularity in the recent years. If you are out trick-or-treating for Halloween and see one, you need to know that usually it means the family is raising awareness about epilepsy. This is their way to show support for individuals who have epilepsy and their families.

Yellow is a fun and bright color to add to your fall decorations. The color yellow is associated with positive emotions of happiness and joy. I felt I needed to add yellow to my samples.

If you choose to make some yellow pumpkins, it can bring some warmth and positivity to your home. Yellow pumpkins can help make your home feel welcoming and inviting as you have your friends and family over for fall activities and holidays like Thanksgiving.

Yellow pumpkins also represent a bountiful harvest during the fall season.

Red or burgundy pumpkins are becoming more popular for fall decorations. They are still not as popular as the regular color orange.

Red is often seen as a color for passion, love, and strong emotions.

Red pumpkins would make excellent autumn decorations for a wedding or other romantic event.

Red or burgundy pumpkins can also help someone feel welcomed at your home this fall. It adds a feeling of warmth. It can add a festive feeling to your parties or gatherings this autumn season.

Teal pumpkins during Halloween hold a special meaning. They have become a symbol for Food Allergy Awareness.

The Teal Pumpkin Project, introduced by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), encourages people to place teal pumpkins on their doorstep so that parents with children who have food allergies know that they offer non-food treats for trick-or-treaters.

It is meant to make sure that every child can participate in the fun of Halloween.

Teal pumpkins are a symbol of community support for families with children with food allergies.

The color teal reminds us of calmness, tranquility, and emotional balance. As a parent with special needs, I wish I had known about this sooner. I love this!

Of course, I can’t forget about the typical orange pumpkins. They are everywhere this time of year.

My kids love to carve their pumpkins and set them out. We will be doing that sometime soon before Halloween.

I hope by sharing the different colors, that it gives some inspiration for creating your pumpkins. What color will you choose?

Make sure you share your pumpkins you create and use the #creativepumpkins and be sure to tag me @creativesnugglies.
